St. John Ambulance today is more than 13,000 volunteers providing service in more than 300 communities from coast-to-coast. St. John Ambulance volunteers in Canada remain as dedicated as the Knights of ages ago, providing millions of hours of service through emergency first-aid readiness, health and safety training, youth programs, Therapy Dog visitation services and much more.
St. John Ambulance volunteers give their time to provide community services to the people around them. The Brigade offers several avenues for volunteers to learn new skills and use them in their communities. Volunteers learn the skills to become a first aid provider—delivering patient care at a variety of sporting and cultural events. They’re trained and ready to provide disaster relief. The Brigade also offers the opportunity to gain valuable experience, including leadership, communication and interpersonal skills.
Emergency Services Support Team and the Patient Transport Team are composed of members from the serving divisions.
